In short:
Unfragile.life is about exploring ways to transform ourselves & strengthen the communities we serve
Its a chaotic world, so often things seem to fall apart, are we prepared for the struggle? How will it find us? When life crushes us, will we run, or hide, or give up?
In that moment, can we create something better than there was before?
At Unfragile we think you can.
Introducing Unfragile.life
What do we do?
Right now we are new, but we want to be the go to source of training, advice and encouragement for all those hard core missionaries, mercenaries, and misfits in the development and community sectors.
If you are not Hard Core or not one of the M’s we will still have you 🙂
Right now we are seeking the help we need to make the vision happen. Our goal is to produce a 6 monthly online magazine, with video, written articles and curated resources from across the internet that are interesting but also relevant, to make you more resilient in your life and be more effective at influencing healthy change in your local community and for your clients/constituents.
We will begin with where we have the most expertise and experience:
- Human community dynamics
- Overcoming Stress
- Cross-cultural Effectiveness
- Effecting Personal Change
We are Christians and have experienced how important a relationship with the Divine is to effect change. So for those of you who are Christian or have an interest in spiritual practice, we will also be providing content that specifically explores the relevance of God for the community and development professional.
We want it to be practical so we need your input, not only to give feedback, but we are also looking for experienced people who align with our philosophy to produce content, check out Join the Team to find out more.
Eventually we want to provide you with content across 3 main areas, 1. the body mind soul dynamic, 2. Spirit, and 3. Community. One day we might have less confusing categories, but another way to think about it is:
- Effecting personal change for physical and emotional resiliance,
- The integration of our spirit life and practical religious stuff
- Effecting change in communities and other difficult places
Who Are We?
Unfragile is a project of the organisation Why Warriors Pty Ltd (see Whywarriors.com.au) which was created to provide solutions to the disfunction found in Aboriginal Communities in remote Australia, providing cross-cultural training to both local Aboriginal people and mainstream personnel working in in the sector. We gradually began to recognise that our cross-cultural training for mainstream personnel had wider application, to help people be more effective across the development and community sectors. But while our knowledge is pigeon holed as cultural training we could not help people to escape the traps and life crushing failures that are inevitable in trying to improve the world.
Unfragile is the brain child ( and pet part time project) of Timothy Trudgen who has a complicated story about trying to change the world, which you will hear plenty about if you join Unfragile.life
Part of the story has been a passion for helping all the other missionaries, mercenaries and misfits out there to get access to the knowledge and training we need, and the reminders when we need it, to come together under stress rather than fall apart into the disfunction (Sic! I like it spelt this way) we are trying to solve (or avoid). We know that this project is not something to do on our own, so if you are excited by the possibility of helping professions survive and thrive and become unfragile… send us your expression of interest.
Hope is Unfragile
Is what you are facing the end of the road? Possibly. But if it is, it is also the beginning of something new. It can be something you enter consciously, engaging in the ups and downs, or you can get stuck unconsciously and make life worse for everyone. You need emotional, attitudinal, touchy feelly stuff and you need hard practical models to apply to the journey. You need the “why” and the “how”. Our goal it to put this at your fingertips when you need it…So keep in touch. XXO
‘Keep hope on your horizon, and enjoy the view. What looks like the end might be the start of a new adventure.
Don’t let it suprise you.. too much!’
